FIVE REASONS

Top five reasons to make a nomination for the Eliasson Global Leadership Prize

The anthropologist Margaret Mead once wrote, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Inspirational? We hope so. But if it’s not enough to get you to open your laptop, here are five reasons you should take a moment to make a nomination.

1ST

REASON

A chance to join a network of global leaders

You will give someone the opportunity to join a group of leaders who embrace change. Leaders committed to creating sustainable global impact.

Exposure to an influential panel of jurors

Jury members, global leaders in their own right, are drawn from a wide variety of national, cultural, and professional backgrounds. The work of all qualifying nominees will be recognized by this group of leaders. Winners get the opportunity to learn from and interact with jury members.

2ND

REASON

3RD

REASON

Financial reward

The Eliasson Global Leadership Prize carries a prize of $50,000. This year the Tällberg Foundation will award three such prizes to encourage winners to strive for even greater goals in the future.

Support the mission that leadership can change the world

The Eliasson Global Leadership Prize is named in honor of Swedish diplomat Jan Eliasson, former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations. Jan is recognized as exemplifying the qualities of a leader: He’s innovative, risk-taking, collaborative, values-based and relentlessly optimistic. The same characteristics we associate with the prize and hope to capture in the leadership conversations spurred through the program.

4TH

REASON

5TH

REASON

Join a platform that amplifies an honoree’s influence

The winners of the prize are announced at the annual Celebration of Leaders and Leadership in conjunction with a workshop on global leadership. In the most recent years, we held the celebration and workshop in different cities: Stockholm in 2015, Amsterdam in 2016 and New York in 2017. This year we will convene in Mexico City in November. The winners will join other leaders whose work is enriched and advanced by their collaboration.
